Provide advanced administrative support to the largest department in the School of Dental Medicine consisting of 118 faculty and more than 600 students. The incumbent will act as primary liaison between the Program Directors, faculty, and students, making sure all questions and concerns are addressed by the faculty. The incumbent works closely with some specific program Directors for whom they would keep records of students’ progress towards competency and then be responsible for their "sign-out" from said program during graduation season. This requires maintaining detailed records of many different procedures and summative evaluations and making decisions about students’ readiness to graduate. The Department is a vibrant, busy unit and the incumbent must work well under time constraints, exercise initiative, independent judgment, and discretion in the day to day running of an extremely busy environment. The Department has also taken on more responsibilities that include the office of Faculty Development and the Electronic Portfolios project for our 600 students. The Incumbent would have to organize faculty development retreats for the whole school as well as manage and monitor the templates and the websites for the electronic portfolios.
