When you work in Jersey you will experience a different way of life. Against the backdrop of our beautiful island setting, our communities face a variety of health and wellbeing challenges. We are committed to facing these challenges head-on, intertwining the skills of our talented multidisciplinary staff with a healthcare system that encourages linked-up services and collaborative team-work. Away from the jurisdiction of the NHS, we adapt to the needs of islanders and seek to give them the best quality of life.

The delivery of quality care services is at the core of our healthcare system. We are therefore keen to ensure that our Nurses and Midwives (and Allied Health Professionals) are given the opportunity to rediscover their love for their profession, with manageable workloads and the chance to provide high-quality care to their patients – and that’s where you come in. Joining our Nursing and Midwifery Higher Education department, you will be part of a team developing the skills and knowledge of our enthusiastic healthcare practitioners. Working across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, you will encourage a supportive learning environment in which our staff can attain a variety of qualifications such as MSc Professional Studies, MSc Advanced Practice and BSc Professional Practice and maintain cutting-edge knowledge. Developing all relevant resources and coordinating these programmes, you will also undertake, publish and supervise primary research and instil a love of education and learning amongst your students.

As you will convey your teaching through a variety of methods such as tutorials, lectures and seminars, you will have exceptional communication skills with the ability to adapt your content to the relevant audience. Passionate about sharing your knowledge – which you will have gained in a previous Higher Education (HE) role – you will have a minimum of five years’ teaching experience in HE, reinforced by a postgraduate certificate in Education and membership of the Higher Education Academy. With a Masters’ degree in the area of advanced practice, you will either have or be working towards a doctoral level qualification. You will also need comprehensive organisational skills, as you will be responsible for maintaining the university standards that apply to BSc and MSc programmes.

Our staff are so important to us, you will be supported from day one, you’ll have everything you need to make the move and start changing the lives of others and your own. We’ll provide you with a generous relocation package (£8,000), support with a deposit and first month’s rent through our Deposit Advance Scheme, as well as continual development opportunities. You will have the freedom to really rediscover why you love what you do and who you are.

This position is a unique opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of others. Our commitment to ‘care rediscovered’ starts at home and in furthering the skills of our enthusiastic staff – thereby helping them rediscover their passion for care – you will secure the future wellbeing of Jersey’s residents. Join us today, and support us as we put this important ethos into practice.

Closing date 5 April 2018.
