The Faculty of Arts have an opportunity for two experienced administrators, with excellent attention to detail and a strong professional service focus, to join the team. The Department of Sociology and the Department of International Studies: Languages and Cultures are seeking Department Administrators to support the administrative operations of these departments. The Department Administrator reports directly to the Head of Department and provides them, and other academics within the department, with advice on University policies, procedures and processes. The incumbent will also be responsible for a wide and varied range of administrative duties including budget monitoring, reporting and analysis, website content maintenance, administering curriculum planning and timetabling at the Department level, processing student results, and coordinating recruitment and payment for casual teaching and research staff. To be considered for this position, applicants must address the below selection criteria in their resume and in a 1 – 2 page cover letter:
- Substantial experience providing high level professional services in an administrative role.
- Ability to deliver high quality work in a complex and high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated initiative and experience developing and implementing process improvements.
- Demonstrated experience interpreting data and preparing reports, preferably with exposure to maintaining budgets and student related information.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience working in an administrative role in the Higher Education Sector would be highly regarded.
Salary Package: from $81,434 p.a. (HEW Level 6), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
