Drive exceptional academic success through the leadership of Charles Darwin University’s undergraduate nursing clinical program
The College of Nursing and Midwifery drives the twin goals of teaching and research. The College offers a broad range of innovative programs that prepare students for a diverse range of career paths through study at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The discipline of Nursing delivers teaching for both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. Our programs are specifically designed to cater for health professionals requiring formal qualifications. All the programs are offered both on and off campus.
As Director of Clinical Education in Nursing you are the leader of Charles Darwin University’s undergraduate nursing clinical program, achieving outcomes through the overall strategic and day-to-day operations of the program, including the direct management of a team of academic and clinical education staff.
In consultation with the Nursing Senior Leadership team, your emphasis is development, expansion and improvement in the quality of pre-registration nursing students’ clinical experiences by working closely with health care providers to ensure the clinical systems and processes are meeting their needs, as well as actively seeking out partnership opportunities with external stakeholders to successfully expand placement opportunities.
To be successful you must hold a PhD or Professional Doctorate in nursing and have an established research profile, including supervision of postgraduate students, substantial publications, and a successful track record of obtaining external research funding.
Essential to this role is your eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, as well as an established reputation of leadership in the field of clinical nursing, including a sound knowledge of local, national and international issues related to the clinical education of nurses and clinical placements.
