About the job
You will be responsible for providing technical support in nanoscience to the Research Chair: Therapeutics and Pharmaceutical Science’s research activities at the City West campus and at the Basil Hetzel Institute (BHI). This position will undertake experimentation in the making and testing of nanosystems and also provide guidance and advice to staff and students to ensure, compliance with and the development of, correct documentation of laboratory procedures and ensuring a safe environment is maintained.
Skills and Experience
You will have post-secondary qualifications and experience working in a research laboratory, ideally related to nanomaterial development and in human biology. You will require demonstrated experience in the design, assembly, characterisation and testing of nanosystems and the application of chemistry and physics’ principles to experimentation for the development of micro and nano-type systems. You will also have experience using multiphoton microscopy, electron microscopy, nano zetasizing and related techniques to be able to measure and assess the efficacy and safety of compounds, dyes and drugs and particularly in the nano and mico ranges.
Demonstrated knowledge and application of HS&IM requirements and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) in the operation of a research facility; high level organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a complex environment and the ability to work with minimal supervision are also essential.
