The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University's strategies related to RMIT's academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.
The Role & Your Responsibilities
The Senior Designer, Data Visualisation & Reporting will be responsible for delivering key insights and information through data visualisation to key stakeholders across the university. Working with the Data Scientists and Wranglers in the Learning Analytics team the role will also provide dashboard design and development services to the organisation, enabling the efficient and effective reporting of key performance metrics. A key part of the role will be to design statistical models to convey data-driven insights and solutions to problems arising in tertiary education. These insights will support executive and management decision making at all levels of the organisation.
Skills & Experience Required
As the successful candidate you will have demonstrated knowledge and experience in reading data libraries and scripting languages such as Python or Java. You will also have the ability to develop data visualisations for both static and dynamic reports. Strong problem solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions and strong skills in data manipulation, statistics and analysis will be imperative to your success in this role. You will also have strong work management skills including the ability to work independently across multiple tasks.
