The Department of Geography and Resource Management is looking for an outstanding candidate for a faculty post at Assistant Professor level in the areas of tourism and specifically sustainable tourism. Preference will be given to those with substantial experience in teaching sustainable tourism. Expertise in tourism policy, destination management/branding will be an added advantage.
Applicants should be at the early stage of their career and have (i) a relevant PhD degree in tourism, geography or related disciplines; (ii) training/experience in relevant disciplines or related areas that brings about strong complementarity and synergy with the current programme(s); and (iii) outstanding scholarly activities demonstrating potential research excellence.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for three years initially commencing January 2019, which, subject to funding, performance and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.
