Salary: £38,833 to £47,722 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Working with the Head of Operations, the role will focus on core underpinning operations such as HR and business processes. The role holder will contribute to strategic, budgetary, resource and operation policy and planning in addition to providing operational leadership and management for a diverse team of support staff. In order to ensure the successful delivery of an excellent administrative support service for the School of Life Sciences.
This role will work in partnership with the Head of Operations, Faculty HR Business Partner and other staff, using business understanding and a strategic view point to manage the delivery of School HR processes (PDPR, recruitment, promotions, post re-grading, workload planning etc.). You will be required to align processes with the needs of the School, taking prompt action to mitigate risks and barriers to operational effectiveness and areas of underperformance.
This role involves managing a diverse team of operational administrative staff, including those engaged in HR support, business system applications and core administrators. You will act as an immediate Deputy for the Head of Operations as and when required.
Candidates must be either professionally qualified/ have a relevant degree, and/or significant hands-on experience in similar or related roles as well as proven experience of an administrative management role within a single site/ team of large, complex, matrix organisation.
Candidates must also have proven skills and competencies in operational planning, team leadership, successful problem-solving and have self-motivation and the ability to motivate and lead others.
