The Infrastructure Services and Operations function focuses on the delivery of day to day support and service to staff and students. The team works collaboratively across the IT function, partnering with other teams in the provision of a high quality, responsive and seamless service, and works to continuously improve services.
About the job
Reporting to the SOE Manager, in the newly created role of SOE Architect, you will be responsible for designing the Standard Operating Environment for desktop, mobile and BYOD devices, including macOS, Windows and Linux, providing a simple to use environment that meets the business need, permits customisations to tailor for individual needs, and ensures Swinburne security standards are adhered to.
With a strong focus on client driven service, you will strive to ensure the installation and configuration of user hardware and software is efficient and effective. Using your technical expertise, you will be a key contributor to the future direction in terms of the Swinburne IT SOE offering, the way it is managed, and how the Standard evolves to take advantage of emerging technologies and meet maturing demand.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
- Relevant industry certification (Microsoft and Apple).
- Demonstrated experience in servicing and managing various operating systems for client computers in a large scale network environment (especially macOS, Windows, Linux)
