The role

The successful appointee will be responsible for supporting Associate Professor Zuduo Zheng’s research activities in the domain of modelling mixed traffic (consisting of traditional, connected and automated vehicles), and related topics.

The successful appointee will have access to research facilities and other resources at the University of Queensland.

There are opportunities to work with internationally active researchers within and beyond the Transport Research group in the school.

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in the area of in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines.

You should have demonstrated expert knowledge in in at least one of the following topics: traffic flow modelling, control theory, mathematical and statistical modelling, optimisation, or related topics.

Ability to conduct high quality research, publish research findings in prestigious journals, be a reliable team player with excellent communication skills (academic writing in particular), and supervise junior researchers, is essential.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and be self-driven with a career development plan in the academia, is desirable/will be highly regarded.

This is a full-time, fixed-term appointment for three (3) years at Academic level B. It can be further extended depending on funding availability. The remuneration package will be in the range $92,142  - $109,419 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $107,807 - $128,020 p.a.).
