The Directorate of Information, Learning and Estates (ILE) is seeking to recruit a highly skilled, organised and enthusiastic individual, experienced in supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure to join the team as a Systems Specialist. The post is part of our professional services team comprising of developers, networking, systems, desktop and media specialists and has potential for the successful candidate to be exposed to a range of different technologies and areas of work. The emphasis for our professional services team is on projects, delivery and implementation, supporting our customer facing front-line teams with specialist skills and expertise.
In this role, you will be working as part of a team, driving forward our Infrastructure support, maintenance and project work. In line with the responsibilities and skills outlined in the Job Description for this role, products in use at the University include:
- Windows Server 2012 / 2016
- Patch Management (WSUS)
- Operating System and application management/deployment (MS-SCCM)
- Enterprise SAN storage (Dell Compellent)
- VMWare vSphere
You will be responsible for delivering process driven change and rapid deployment to develop and enhance our campus-wide infrastructure desktop user experience. You will be expected to work with high standards of professionalism and to collaborate effectively with colleagues across the University.
