A Post doctor position is available at the Department of Chemical Engineering. This position is financed by the Research Council of Norway within the MembrAlign project (Membranes with Aligned nanostructures for CO2 separation). The appointment has a duration of 2 years. The proposed starting date is 1st April, 2018.

Job description 

The primary objective of this project is to develop and optimize polymeric nanocomposite membranes with a patented alignment technology for CO2 separation. The work will be conducted at the Department of Chemical Engineering in membrane research team.

Qualifications

The applicant must hold a PhD in chemical engineering, materials science or similar, and a documented background in membrane separation or nanocomposite material development. The successful candidate should have profound hands-on expertise in key lab techniques such as membrane coating, nanoparticle modification and nanocomposite preparation. Candidates with skills in material characterization like SEM/EDS, TEM, XRD, DMA and FTIR will be preferentially considered.

We search for a creative person able to conduct an independent research and solve challenging experimental problems. The ideal candidate should also have good communication skills in both written and oral English, with documented ability of writing scientific papers.

Terms of employment

The appointment of the Postdoc will be made according to Norwegian guidelines for universities and university colleges and to the general regulations regarding university employees.

NTNU’s personnel policy objective is that the staff must reflect the composition of the population to the greatest possible extent.

The position as Postdoc is remunerated according to the Norwegian State salary scale. There is a 2% deduction for superannuation contribution.
