Business and Operations Manager
The Operations Manager is accountable for planning and organizing the day to day operational and financial management of the GSDM’s Continuing Education program. This but not limited to controlling all financial matters and transactions; arranging and setting up additional programs, developing and implementing new programs as designated by Director of Business and Strategic Planning. The Operations Manager will be responsible to provide exceptional service experience to dentists and non-dentists seeking a lifelong learning experience.
Operational Matters: Plans, organizes and controls the daily operations of all the Continuing Education courses logistics, including working with internal and external course providers to gather and organize material for courses, receiving of speakers and participants; arranging for audio visual services. Works with Academic Affairs to schedule classrooms, treatment rooms and operatories and the Simulated Learning Center. In addition, is the single point of contact with IT and facilities to request specialty items or report on any issues affecting the teaching of the CE courses. Is accountable setting up new CE courses, tracking and monitoring course and attendance activity in the CE data base. Processes and tracks all course sign in sheets, evaluations and certificates. Assist Business Manager by ensuring all courses are in compliance with ADA CERP standards in order to maintain CODA accreditation of the department.
Financial Matters: Controls all financial transactions for course attendees such as receiving payments, refunds etc. Maintains P&L spreadsheet for all courses and processes all payments for food, lodging, travel etc related to CE courses/speakers. In addition, reconcile all financial statements like transactions on credit card statements in CAR. Maintain correct inventory for supplies, printing and other expense items for the Division of Continuing Education.
International Preceptorship Program: Responsible to develop, implement and modify the International Preceptorship Programs which includes receiving and reviewing all applications and setting up and conducting the applicant interviews. This one month long observationship program is offered seven times a year to international dentists and needs extensive coordination with ISSO, OEM and Global Programs along with all compliance training. In addition, the position coordinates with the Group Practice Leaders with each participant's clincial training needs. For didactic training, the position coordinates with all didactic pre-doc lecturers. Acts as the single point of contact for program applicants/attendees.
Develop, implement and modify special programs and work closely with the faculty and participants to meet the expectations of the program. The position will also be responsible for communicating, organizing and coordinating the logistics of the course.
Dental Assistant Program: Leads the operations for Dental Assistance Program including reaching out to speakers and departments to ensure seamless functioning of the course. This will include day to day operations of taking attendance, guiding the participants to the rooms/clinics and guide them through their time here
