Coventry University has achieved the highest ranking for a modern university in the history of the league tables.  This is an exciting time for the University, as we continue to deliver our 'Excellence with Impact' research strategy. This has already seen Coventry University establish an exceptional portfolio of high-impact research, and, with a significant investment in research, we continue to gain momentum as a world-class, innovative University that is internationally regarded and ranked for its research. This is an excellent time for new joiners to the University who can make a contribution to the shaping and development of this important next stage of our journey.

Working within the Research Development Unit, the Research Development Executive is key to building research capacity and capability across the University within our Research Centres. This post offers an excellent opportunity to support a team of leading academics as well as to help shape, develop and establish Coventry University's exciting, fresh and new research direction.

The successful candidate will take a proactive, creative, challenging, questioning and facilitative approach in working primarily with academics within the Faculty Research Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) at Coventry University, to meet its key strategic aim of delivering the University's 'Excellence with Impact' research agenda. The post holder will be responsible for the development and growth of a strategic pipeline of high quality research and new income generation within CBiS.

We are interested in hearing from candidates with previous research funding proposal development and a talent and passion for both, identifying funding opportunities and motivating colleagues to get involved and equally work alongside individual researchers and understand their needs and going out to find appropriate calls/funders.

Together with a proven ability of preparing and writing quality research proposals and a track record of supporting successful applications to high profile funding organisations the successful candidate will draw on specific knowledge or experience of a discipline relevant to CBiS to be able to evidence success in securing research project funding.  If you have excellent funding proposal development and evaluation skills, knowledge and experience of relevant research funding sources and funders such as the Economic and Social Research Council, Innovate UK, Leverhulme Trust, EU H2020, Nuffield Foundation, British Academy and have a research-based Masters or PhD in a relevant discipline we'd like to hear from you.

Centre for Business in Society - Faculty of Business and Law

The behaviours of organisations and policy makers impact on individuals, groups and communities, businesses and organisations, nations and global relations. These effects and consequences can be beneficial and enable enhanced social, economic and environmental well-being. However, negative consequences can also arise from business practices and policy makers paying insufficient attention to their corporate responsibilities or their impact on society. Through understanding the impact of organisations’ activities, behaviours and policies, our research seeks to promote responsibility and to change behaviours so as to achieve better outcomes for economies and societies. Our mission is to deliver effective solutions to policy makers, businesses and industries that reflect responsible practice.
