Senior Project Officer, Equity and Diversity

Equity and Diversity works with students and staff to promote and support equality of opportunity in education and employment at Western Sydney University. It provides high-level strategic advice to the Executive and senior management, develops and implements policy, provides education and training, manages the Employee Reasonable Adjustment System and coordinates a range of projects and networks, ensuring that the equity and diversity agenda is closely aligned with the strategic priorities of the University and its clients.
The Senior Project Officer will manage part of the University’s Equity and Diversity Strategy which may include strategy regarding Gender Equality; Cultural and Linguistic Diversity (CALD); Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) or disability (PWD) matters. This includes the positioning of the University as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality, securing the national benchmark on LGBTI workplace inclusion under The Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) and participation in other national social access and equity measures. The Senior Project Officer is also required to develop a coordinated approach to statistical evaluation, strategic analysis, monitoring and reporting of the University’s equity and diversity performance including preparation of reports and submissions in accordance with the University’s governmental, governance and compliance requirements, to provide advice and training on equity and diversity issues to staff at all levels and to participate in university wide projects and committees advising on equity and diversity perspectives. The position also manages the Equity and Diversity website and participates in a range of Unit special projects.

Remuneration Package: HEW Level 7 $37,415 to $40,371 p.a. (Comprising Salary pro rata salary $84,388 to $91,056 p.a., plus Superannuation, plus Leave Loading).
