Applications are invited for two Post-doctoral Fellow positions in the Laboratory of Neuroscience for Education (NfE Lab) in the Faculty of Education, to commence as soon as possible for a period of two years, with the possibility of renewal for the third year.
The NfE Lab is dedicated to both basic and translational research in learning. By investigating learning in the natural social, emotional, and developmental context, the NfE Lab aims to uncover generalizable learning principles at multiple levels of analysis and in multiple domains of learning (e.g. math and language) and to create societal impact via enhancement of learning, improvement of teaching practice, and informing educational policy making. Leveraging recent advances in neurotechnology development, the NfE Lab sets its priority on bringing laboratory-based neuroimaging research into the real world of learning.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in fields associated with Science of Learning, including but not limited to cognitive neuroscience, psychophysiology, neuroimaging, computational neuroscience, computer science, electrical and computer engineering, and physics. They are expected to have substantial experience and a publication record in interdisciplinary and collaborative neuroscience research on learning broadly defined; and demonstrated ability to design and conduct research projects and mastery of either high-density EEG and/or fNIRS techniques. Those with solid training and strong publication records in high-density EEG (post 1– Ref.: 201800019) and/or fNIRS (post 2 – Ref.: 201800020) are particularly welcome to apply. The appointees will have the opportunity to develop skills in leading funded research projects, work with graduate and undergraduate students, and develop new projects through writing grant proposals.
Information about the NfE Lab and Faculty can be obtained at http://nfe.edu.hku.hk and http://www.hku.hk/education respectively. Enquiries about the post should be sent to Professor Akaysha Tang, Director of the NfE Lab, Faculty of Education at firstname.lastname@example.org.
