The Events and Domestic Protocol team design and deliver strategically-aligned experiences that showcase the University, it’s research and achievements; enhancing the Macquarie experience for students, staff and partners.  ​​​​

The Role

The Events and Protocol team is seeking an enthusiastic Events Content Specialist to develop and implement digital event communication campaigns to maximise event promotion and engagement. Using the Cvent event management system, responsibilities of this role will include copywriting, proofing and design for event-based digital campaigns. Having a high attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional communication campaigns is key to success in this role, as is being focused on delivering the best possible outcomes and experience for stakeholders, attendees and the University.

You will work with the Content & Protocol Manager as well as Event Partners and Partners across Business Units and Faculties to develop communications that resonate with the audience, align with the Macquarie brand and leverage best practice. You must be able to collaborate with key senior stakeholders and prioritise work to meet deadlines.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for the position, you must submit and upload your CV and a cover letter (no more than 2 pages) which addresses the criteria below:

  • Degree qualified in communications, marketing or equivalent qualification / experience
  • Proven ability to interpret client briefs and develop strategic communications plans
  • Demonstrated experience in writing for a range of mediums and audiences
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Experience using event management systems and/or web content management system 
  • Experience with content planning and production
  • Track record of contributing to a dynamic, high performing team in a fast-paced environment

Salary Package: from $80,231 to $88,561 per annum (HEW Level 6) plus 17% super and annual leave loading.
