The Centre for Applied Health Economics, within the School of Medicine, based in the flagship Sir Samuel Griffith building at the Nathan campus, seeks a highly motivated Research Fellow to undertake economic evaluations and Health Technology Assessments (HTA) for national policy makers. The Centre is self-funded, and this position provides an opportunity to work with an excellent team of health economists and biostatisticians in a multi-disciplinary setting, to deliver high quality HTA's and economic advice with significant impact on policy.

This is a fixed term (twelve months), full time position based at the Nathan campus, with the possibility of renewal after this period subject to funding.

The role:

The key roles undertaken in this position include the preparation or appraisal of submissions to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Advisory Committee (PBAC) and/or the Medical Services Advisory Committee for listing on the Medical Benefits Schedule, building economic models and collaborating with other researchers within the team.

The person:

The successful candidate will have experience in HTA and the evaluation of industry submissions to the PBAC and an advanced tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as health economics, together with experience of data analysis and economic modelling.

You will have experience in designing and undertaking decision analytic models and/or evidence-based medicine research. In addition, you will have a record of writing reports for the Australian Government or a strong track record of research publications and a sound understanding of the Australian health policy-making environment.

Salary range:

Research Fellow, Grade 2: $90,697 - $107,706 per annum.

Research Fellow, Grade 1: $70,744 - $83,217 per annum.
