The University is committed to an ambitious programme of change and development. A new city centre campus is planned as a central piece of the City of Bristol’s Temple Enterprise Quarter. Alongside further major investment focused on the main campus, through both capital developments and major change projects targeted at improving the university experience for its students, staff and visitors. 
 
The role holder will lead a small team that will play an integral part in supporting the development of these schemes, applying their extensive knowledge and experience of space management in higher education to address the key issues as they arise. Responding to the developing pedagogic methods and research activities, as well as leading on modernising the university as a work place, the space management team are an integral part in delivering the property strategy and change needed as the university grows and develops.
 
The role holder will input into the university’s estate strategy, having developed a deep understanding of the university’s strategic plans and its’ estate, providing input to senior management boards and working alongside Schools, Faculties and Divisions to develop strong cases for investment in new facilities.
 
The successful candidate will have demonstrable understanding of property strategy within a complex environment. Being able to exercises judgement when faced with multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities of stakeholders. Have proven ability to take clear and timely decisions and take corrective action as required. Having experience of planning and leading workstreams including responsibility for planning, reporting progress and identifying risks and issues and knowing when to escalate. With a proven ability to be resilient under pressure, to pre-empt and seek solutions to problems.
