Position overview

The ANU has an international reputation for research and education relevant to the health and well-being of the population of Australia, as well as that of the developing world. This is achieved through discovery research, applied research in health service settings, research-led teaching in health and medical sciences, and the translation of research findings into practice and policy. The ANU College of Health and Medicine (CHM) comprises the Research School of Psychology (RSP), the ANU Medical School (ANUMS), the John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR) and the Research School of Population Health (RSPH). These schools work together to deliver world-class research and education across the spectrum of medicine and health-related fields, working in partnership with the health sector at local, national and international levels.

The Health and Medical Education Strategist will support the Dean, CHM to explore education options within the College with the aim of incorporating the findings into a College-wide education and research strategy. The Strategist will consult widely with key stakeholders from the Colleges of Science (CoS) including the College Deans, the Deputy Dean (Education), School Directors and the Associate Directors (Education) within each School. The Health and Medical Education Strategist will also be required to interact with the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic).

The Health and Medical Education Strategist will be employed at either an Academic Level C or D depending on experience and qualifications. This is a project position and is fixed-term, for an initial period of 3 years. The Strategist will be required to have demonstrated experience in teaching at a university level and would have been involved in the development of new educational programs. The Strategist will be granted some research support funding to maintain research during this time.
