Lead Web Developer, IS&T Administrative Systems
The Lead Web Developer provides oversight for the application sustainment and support process, management of technical resources, and implementation of efficient processes. Key activities include implementation of software development and maintenance best practices, leadership and team building actions, and collaborative, assessment and implementation of open-source and vendor-packaged solutions. The Lead Developer manages the technical resources and the provision of efficient service management processes including service request fulfillment, incident response, problem management, and management reporting for the programs his team supports. The team lead has direct technical responsibilities in the delivery of application support services. The Lead Web Developer contributes to the development and deployment of web-based applications ranging from large standalone apps to small plug-ins for content management systems, as well as BUs app portfolio for mobile devices. The individual in this role will collaborate with project teams within IS&T and MarCom to determine appropriate tools, write specifications, and develop plans for integration with the existing web application landscape at Boston University. The ideal candidate will have seven to ten years of experience developing applications for the web.
Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred. Five to eight years of experience. Advanced oral & written communication skills. Supervisory responsibilities and advanced analytical, computer/technical skills and some project/process management skills.
