About the opportunity
Sydney Law School is seeking to appoint a senior academic in the field of corporate law and regulation, to lead a team of scholars in this field, and to develop Sydney Law School’s reputation for excellence in teaching, research,and professional engagement in corporate and commercial law. Sydney Law School is the home of the Ross Parsons Centre for Commercial, Corporate and Taxation Law, and the appointee will be expected to play an active role in the Centre. The School also offers an extensive range of post-graduate units of study, many of which are taught by visiting international faculty, and adjunct staff from the profession, so this position offers the opportunity for the incumbent to develop a wide network of international and professional affiliations.

The position is a teaching and research position (with a workload allocation of 40% teaching, 40% research and 20%service). There will be a requirement for you to be committed to teach in one or more compulsory units of study on anon-going basis.
Successful candidates will:
- hold a research degree in law, or demonstrated equivalent research capacity
- demonstrate talent and enthusiasm for leading and mentoring a teaching team in the area of corporate law
- demonstrate a commitment to research excellence, and strong publication record
- be enthusiastic about taking on a leadership role, as appropriate to the level of appointment. Appointment may bemade at Level D or Level E
Term and remuneration
The successful applicant will be offered a full-time continuing position, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation and confirmation period for new appointees. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
