The purpose of this position will be to support the Northern Rice Project in identifying new traits of rice quality specific to the requirements of Northern Australian germplasm, and conduct research into metabolomics and starch structure of rice. The successful appointee will also be required to translate research outcomes into selection tools for delivery to breeding programs, write up papers and academic reports, make presentations, and contribute to training, supervision and developing timelines.
Applicants should possess a PhD in the area of science or agricultural chemistry. You should also have research experience with metabolomics profiling using a range of platforms, a consistent track record of publications in this field, and experience in liaising and collaborating with external agencies to develop co-operative research initiatives.

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment at Research Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545 - $87,535 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,408 - $102,416 p.a.).
