Print and Printmaking Instructor  

Salary: £20,989 - £23,557 per annum (£8,396 - £9,423 pro-rata)
Hours: Part Time 0.4 FTE – 2 days per week (Thursday and Friday)
Contract: Fixed Term (Up to 12 months maternity cover)

A vacancy has arisen for a Part Time Print & Printmaking Instructor for maternity cover. Based across both the University’s Print and Printmaking studios, the work involves a range of responsibilities including, instructing Further and Higher education students in the safe, appropriate and professional use of Print and Printmaking equipment, processes and techniques as required by the curriculum.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team applying knowledge and skills to plan and deliver inductions about relevant processes and prepare learning materials to aid staff and students. They will also work flexibly, providing support to staff and students by setting up and maintaining equipment and materials in the print and printmaking workshops.

Applicants should be aware that this role involves some flexibility in working hours and could include evening sessions when required.

The successful applicant should have a degree in a relevant subject or have equivalent industrial experience. They should also have a sound knowledge and understanding in at least 1 of the following areas:
screenprint, for fabric and/or paper

  • intaglio
  • relief
  • monoprint
  • digital fabric printing

They should also have relevant experience of assisting/instructing students and a strong knowledge of health and safety procedures.  The full list of the essential criteria that the successful candidate will need to demonstrate can be found in the job description.
