The Department for Political Science and Japanese studies at the Philosophical Faculty I of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg invites applications for the position of a tenured

W3-Professorship in Government and Policy Research (W3)

The ideal candidate is a specialist of Government, particularly German Government, and Policy Research and capable of representing this field in teaching and research in breadth and depth. He/she focuses on qualitative parliamentary research and has a strong familiarity with governmental and administrative processes on the federal and/or state level. 

The responsibilities of the position include teaching in the BA Program “Political Science” and the two Master programs “Parlamentsfragen und Zivilgesellschaft” and “Politikwissenschaft”. The candidate is expected to teach university courses in German and to cooperate with the university’s research networks.

A doctoral degree and a habilitation in political science, or a record of research production that is equivalent to the German habilitation, are prerequisites. Further duties are described in § 34 of the "Hochschulgesetz des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt."
