Group Marketing serves all university groups to promote the University's brand, reputation and achievements globally. The Communications team provides advice and guidance on effective internal, external communications and issues management strategies. The team manages the University's reputation in the media as well as with key stakeholders and develops high level messaging about the University for its target audiences.

The Role

Group Marketing is currently looking for a part-time Content Specialist (3 days per week - Wednesday to Friday) to work within the Communications team, with a focus on quality writing, building and delivering a weekly electronic newsletter to staff, as part of broader content and staff engagement strategies. Working with the Content and Channel Manager, you will bring a deep understanding of Digital and Content platforms and add value to the strategic process. In addition, you will contribute story ideas, dovetail with topical news and deliver dynamic copy for the University’s content hub (The Lighthouse) and social media channels.

You will research, write and edit content for use across a variety of communication channels which engages audience interest, meets campaign objectives and aligns with Macquarie's brand, marketing and portfolio strategies. You must be able to collaborate with key senior stakeholders for alignment and work to tight timeframes.

Selection Criteria

  • Degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communication or related discipline
  • Demonstrated understanding of audience-centric and campaign-focused communication plans and aligned writing
  • Keen interest in news and current affairs
  • Working knowledge of content channels and platforms such as Wordpress, Drupal, Campaign Monitor, Marketo and social media
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing relationships and networks
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative approaches to content and channel management for engaging audience interest
  • Experience in writing and coordinating e-newsletters

Salary Package: from $90,330 to $97,937 p.a. pro rata (HEW Level 7) plus 9.5% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading

Appointment Type: Part-time (21 hours per week - Wednesday to Friday), 1 year fixed-term contract (maternity cover)
