Research Associate/Research Fellow, Data Mining/Machine Learning
About the job
You will conduct research in the area of data analytics for the proposed ARC Training Centre in Data Analytics for the Oil and Gas Industry between UniSA and Santos. In this role, you will get the opportunity to conceptualise and conduct industry applied and high quality applied predictive analytics research independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team. You will liaise closely with key project stakeholders including industry, government and research organisations outside the University to ensure the project is delivered on time, on budget and to the stakeholder’s satisfaction.
Reporting directly to the Head of School: Information Technology & Mathematical Sciences through the Associate Head of Research Education, you will assist with the supervision of honours and/or post-graduate research students on projects of your expertise.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this excellent opportunity, you will have a PhD or a Masters in data mining or machine learning. You will also have a strong track record of industry applied and high quality predictive analytics research commensurate with the length of research career. A strong experience in coding and programming will help you be successful in this role.
Lastly, given the nature of the role, it will be an advantage if come with high-quality project management, interpersonal and communication skills.
