Technical Officer – Laboratories

UNSW Canberra has four academic Schools (School of Business, School of Engineering & Information Technology, School of Humanities & Social Sciences and School of Physical, Environmental & Mathematical Sciences) and employs approximately 200 academic and 160 professional staff. UNSW Canberra staff undertake both Defence and non-Defence related academic research.
This Position is situated within the School of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of NSW, Canberra. About the Role:
- Level 6: $83,653- $89,238 Level 7 $91,755 - $99,306 pa (+17% super)
- Full Time (35 hours per week)
About the Successful Applicant:
The successful applicant will be an experienced technician and have the capacity to scope, design, develop and deliver various tasks and projects in teaching and research laboratories. There will also be a requirement to be part of various teams for the installation, commissioning and operations of equipment to support teaching and research activities. The position holder will have qualifications in an engineering related field. The successful applicant will be able to work autonomously, as well as in project teams in a project management and leadership capacity.
To be successful an individual must understand the importance of clear and timely communications with stakeholders, and possess the ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders ranging from academics to higher degree research and undergraduate students and external suppliers. The position holder will need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt to constantly evolving demands and priorities.
We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate the ability to develop and effectively utilise stakeholder relationships to achieve strategic outcomes.
