Lecturer in the Division of Information and Technology Studies (1 post) in the Faculty of Education
The Faculty of Education is ranked number 4 among the top Education faculties worldwide by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings for Education 2018. Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Faculty of Education, to commence on September 1, 2018, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should have a higher degree or above in information and technology studies, particularly project management, information behaviour, organizational learning, social network analysis, management of information systems, or health information management; a professional teaching qualification; not less than 5 years’ teaching experience; and good knowledge of the local education scene. Ideally they should have an academic background in information science and information management, with teaching interests in exploring socio-technical dimensions of information in organizational and social contexts.
The appointee will take up substantial teaching responsibilities, undertake school practicum supervision, and assume administrative responsibilities. He/She will be expected to teach courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
