This position is part of our Sustainable Manufacturing Systems Centre that focuses on sustainable manufacturing through application of fundamental science and innovative thinking and to provide best practice solutions for industry by adapting the research results for their use. This position focuses on undertaking a leading role in teaching and management of postgraduate courses in manufacturing management related topics. You will be expected to undertake the role of course director for several existing MSc courses, and contribute significantly to global expansion of the manufacturing post-graduate programmes. We are looking for candidates that demonstrate innovation in their teaching delivery. You will be expected to engage in research and consultancy to enhance and inform your teaching and contribute to the wider academic and business communities.

Candidates will have a track record in theoretical and practical knowledge in (more than one specialisation is preferred): 

  • Manufacturing management
  • Manufacturing operations management and analysis
  • Management of Technology and Innovation
  • Quality management
  • Global production and service networks
  • Strategic approach to Industry 4.0
  • Innovation Culture to facilitate (disruptive) Industry 4.0 adoption
  • Smart factories management
  • Manufacturing operations in a global environment

The person must have relevant experience within the aerospace or automotive or railways or defence or a similar discrete manufacturing sector.
You are expected to have significant industrial or industry relevant experience for the Senior Lecturer position. You will have a PhD in manufacturing/ engineering/ information technology/ related area or equivalent industrial experience. You must demonstrate a proven track record of teaching and MSc/PhD supervision in a relevant aspect of manufacturing management.
