The Through-life Engineering Services (TES) Centre under the Manufacturing theme focuses on developing knowledge, technology and process demonstrators to provide the capability for the concept design of high-value engineering systems for through-life performance using artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced visualisation technique such as augmented reality.

You will have a unique opportunity to work on a prestigious project within a multi-disciplinary and international team across UK and India that funded by the EPSRC Global Challenge Research Fund. The key responsibility of this post holder is to develop Artificial Intelligent (AI) approaches (e.g. machine learning, deep learning) for 2D and 3D Ultrasound medical image segmentation and registration, develop a cloud based diagnostic system.

You will project manage the research, ensuring project deliverables are delivered in line with project plans and to the satisfaction of the consortium and key stakeholders. This will require excellent communication and influencing skills when dealing with a range of stakeholders who form part of an international consortium.

You will be required to publish papers in high-quality journals based on the research completed. You will also act as the day to day research and outreach coordinator for the consortium. Additionally, you will write proposals and grant submissions in areas related to this project.

We are seeking a talented, energetic and highly motivated individual with a PhD in the areas of medical image analysis, computer vision, machine learning/deep learning or a related discipline. Applicants who have experience in medical ultrasound image processing using AI approaches is encouraged to apply. He/she is expected to have strong programming skills in Python/Matlab/C++. A track record of publications in peer-reviewed relevant conferences and journals as well as in attracting research funding is expected. Your experience in research project management, particularly for an international project would be an advantage.
