Academic Skills Unit Manager, Pathways School
Trinity College, the University of Melbourne comprises a co-educational Residential College, Theological School and Pathways Schools incorporating a sizeable Foundation Studies and Young Leaders programs. Foundation Studies is an award-winning program that prepares over 2,000 overseas students for entry into the University of Melbourne, and other leading Australian Universities. The program equips students with the intellectual, linguistic and cultural skills necessary for success at University.
This newly created role will establish and manage the Academic Skills Unit (ASU) within Trinity College Foundation Studies (TCFS). The ASU will enhance the current level of academic support provided to international students across multiple subject areas. This Unit will work collaboratively with teachers to identify opportunities and needs among TCFS students, as well as providing professional development to teachers in teaching students more effective academic skills.
This Unit will help with the development of customised individual study plans for students at high risk, in conjunction with each of their subject teachers. The ASU will create resources and provide support to all TCFS students, and will aim to ensure that TCFS students are well-prepared for university study.
The successful candidate will possess a TESOL qualification plus a relevant postgraduate qualification with demonstrated work experience in a similar role. Advanced skills in curriculum development and delivery with proven knowledge of academic skills required across various disciplines will see you succeed in this role. Additionally, experience in training, delivering teaching and learning outcomes will also be required.
Salary Range: Band Level 4 FTE $92,000 - $95,000 including 10% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading.
