The School of Fashion and Textiles offers a diverse suite of programs over the spectrum of fashion and textile practices in design, technology and merchandising which strengthens the school's ability to operate as a leading global player.
The role and your responsibilities:
As Administrative Officer, Industry Engagement and Events, you will be responsible for administration of a pilot of the School of Fashion and Textiles model for industry engagement and events.
Industry Engagement within the School of Fashion & Textiles seeks to foster mutually beneficial relationships with business, government, the not-for-profit sector and the community. It engages with industry and the broader community to create and implement activity to assist Fashion and Textiles students to develop employability skills to enhance their success upon graduation, and to support Fashion and Textiles researchers in advancing impactful and relevant Research and Innovation Projects
In 2018, the Administrative Officer, Industry Engagement and Events is responsible for trialling a new approach to the School's industry engagement and events program; administering the events schedule; documentation for industry projects and events, and liaison with RMIT service groups and external providers.
Skills and experience required:
The ideal candidate will bring to this role significant experience in providing administrative and logistical support in the organisation and delivery of a range of events and projects in a complex environment.
Furthermore, key to this role will be your ability to deliver a high level of service to both internal and external stakeholders, have excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and re-adjust workload priorities to meet conflicting deadlines.
Your ability to respond appropriately to sensitive information and situations along with your ability to work effectively, flexibly and collaboratively with colleagues within and beyond the immediate work unit, positively contributing to the achievement of the School's goals will be the key to your success in this role.
A relevant tertiary qualification, and/ or extensive events and administrative experience in a complex tertiary education or similar service environment are required.
