Working in the Centre for Low-Carbon Propulsion Systems (C-ALPS), you will be committed to contributing to our continued success in delivery of engineering programmes. You will join a newly set-up research centre with high levels of industry engagement. 

The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the delivery of automotive powertrain research and teaching programmes with a particular emphasis on Powertrain Electrification. Industrial experience of automotive powertrain development would be extremely advantageous. You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything we do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge in your area of specialisation to support the centre’s research culture.  You must be willing to work flexibly and promote and support international partnerships, as well as potentially deliver teaching onsite at one of our international partners.

Successful candidates will become an active member of one of the Centre for Low-Carbon Propulsion Systems (C-ALPS).  As such you will actively contribute to research groups or communities of practice internally and externally, assisting with bids and tenders for external projects or contracts. You will also disseminate research outputs and develop external networks nationally and internationally.

The position is also open to candidates who wish to focus on teaching practice, development and management. 

Experience of working on applied research projects or contracts, as well as participation in professional practice/consultancy will be advantageous. 

The candidate should be qualified to PhD level in a relevant subject. Alternatively, candidates with relevant industrial experience to an equivalent level are also encouraged to apply.
