Education Track - Assistant, Associate or full Professor in Humanities

The School of Social Sciences (SOSS), Singapore Management University, invites applications for one Education Track position at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor rank in the Humanities, broadly conceived, to begin in July 2018. The position is open to all humanistic scholars, such as in the fields of anthropology, geography, history, literature, and philosophy, who can contribute to the delivery of the University’s Core Curriculum and speak to an interdisciplinary audience, including political scientists, psychologists, and sociologists in the School of Social Sciences. We are especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the delivery of interdisciplinary survey courses such as “Global and Local” and “Wealth and Poverty”, or courses that would fit under a “Cultures of the Modern World” heading, such as “Family Business Cultures”, “Urban Cultures”, or “Multiculturalism”.
This position requires a doctorate in the relevant discipline by the date of appointment. We seek candidates with an excellent record of teaching and scholarly research.
Singapore Management University is a research university committed to an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum, providing opportunities to work with faculty across the social sciences and humanities. The research support is excellent. Salary and benefits are highly competitive. The teaching load per academic year is six for the Education Track position, with undergraduate classes capped at 45.
Full evaluation of applications will start 5 March 2018. Interviews for shortlisted candidates will begin in March 2018. This position will be open until filled.
