James Cook University invites applications for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, Veterinary Anaesthetist to join our world-leading institution.   A continuing appointment, this position is based at the Townsville campus in picturesque tropical north Queensland, where you can enjoy a tropical lifestyle whilst still achieving your career goals.

About the Position

Board certification in the American College of Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia or the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia is preferred, however board eligible candidates or strong interest in veterinary anaesthesia with teaching experienced individual will be considered.  

This position will involve didactic and practical class instruction to our 3rd and 4th year and patient care and clinical supervision / instruction of 5th year (final year) and post graduate students in modern and well equipped small animal veterinary teaching hospital, located in Townsville.  

The successful candidate will be expected to initiate and participate in research project.  Also there will be NO afterhours or weekend on call duties therefore you will be able to enjoy tropical north Queensland outdoor activities.

Required qualifications are Veterinary degree registerable in QLD, Australia, with excellent communication skills, and ability to work in a small, young but rapidly growing teams of a veterinary referral centre.
