Lecturer in Outdoor Learning

Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £39,992 - £47,722 per annum.

Applications are invited for the position of Lecturer in Outdoor Learning. The MSc Outdoor Education, MSc Outdoor Environmental & Sustainability Education, and MSc Learning for Sustainability are highly successful research-led taught postgraduate programmes, which attract a diverse range of UK and international students annually. The programmes are underpinned by the extensive research and professional experience of the team delivering them.

You should demonstrate established contributions to teaching and research, underpinned by considerable experience of practical outdoor teaching in a wide variety of contexts, with a range of participants. You will take responsibility for developing, teaching and administering courses on the Outdoor Environmental Education programmes, and will contribute to the wider work of the subject area and the School.

You will further enhance the existing team by supervising MSc and PhD students, and directing entire postgraduate programmes. Your research activity will involve securing research grants and publishing high quality research outputs for academic and professional audiences to a level that is commensurate with the international reputation of the University of Edinburgh for research excellence and knowledge exchange.
