Dean, College of Business
Victoria University seeks a Dean for its College of Business to provide strong and dynamic leadership in a period of change.
The University is undertaking a major transformation to be an agile, dynamic, innovative and growing university of Opportunity and Success. The Dean will contribute to this transformation and ensure that the College provides a contemporary offer to undergraduate and postgraduate students, which is in tune with the needs of modern business, locally and internationally.
As a dual sector university based in the west of Melbourne, Victoria University is committed to championing its heartland and uplifting communities. Itis well placed to play a leadership role in reconceptualising tertiary education to meet the emerging and future needs of our students, businesses and the community.
The College of Business is part of a wider cluster of colleges, encompassing Business, Art and Education, Engineering and Science and Law and Justice,which work together to champion the University’s flagship theme of Sustainable Industries and Liveable Cities. The Dean of the College of Business is a key leadership and management role reporting to the Vice-President Sustainable Industries and Liveable Cities.
The Dean will be expected to foster high quality learning and teaching and dynamic industry engagement with the business community, and to promote impactful research in collaboration with the relevant Institutes and Centres. The aim is to deliver leading edge programs which equip students with the 21st century skills critical to success in contemporary organisational environments.
The ideal candidate will have an impressive track record of achievement in leadership and management in complex organisational settings and a good understanding of the tertiary education environment both nationally and internationally. We seek an entrepreneur, who has a reputation for building strong relationships with staff and relevant stakeholders in order to nurture a successful business college in a highly competitive and challenging sector.
