This is an exciting yet challenging time in the world of scholarly communications. The publishing industry is going through a period of change as increasing numbers of research outputs are made freely available as Open Access (OA) articles in response to funder mandates.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Open Access Adviser to join a small team ensuring that University research publications meet the requirements of Research Council and HEFCE policies. The role holder will advise academic authors on policy requirements, will support them through the associated processes, and will manage applications for funding to support the publication of research outputs through the author pays “Gold” OA route.

The successful applicant will have extensive experience of supporting Open Access publishing within a UK University and a thorough knowledge of publishing workflows and funder guidelines. They will have strong communication skills, be confident in engaging with the research community, and will be able to work closely with academic colleagues expressing complex issues clearly and concisely.

This role is offered on a full time, fixed-term basis to 31 July 2018.
