Job Description 
The successful applicant will lead and contribute to the establishment of a world-class research program in Space Science and Technology at UAEU’s SSTC, and demonstrate strong enthusiasm for collaborative and interdisciplinary research at both the national and international levels. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to sponsored research and scholarly work. Teaching is not a requirement, but delivering short courses at the graduate level and running workshops may be required. The SSTC maintains close ties with the Colleges of Engineering and Science in general, and with the departments of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Physics in particular. The SSTC seeks to establish collaborative programs with national and international space science institutions and industries. -Perform research aligned with the mission of the College/Center -Publish research in academic journals and at conferences; -Write proposals to obtain funding for future research projects; -Supervise and train Masters and PhD students; -Supervise postdoctoral researchers; -Engage with UAEU industry partners -Contribute to the development of Center research strategies and themes -Be able to carry out independent research projects -Provide academic leadership to those working within relevant research areas. -Develop successful links with external contacts such as other educational and research bodies, businesses, the public sector, professional bodies and other providers of funding and research initiatives to foster collaboration and generate income. -Play a role in a relevant national professional body or recognised events. -Continually update knowledge and understanding in field or specialism, and engage in continuous professional development.

Minimum Qualification
A Ph.D. degree in plasma physics or closely related field with an emphasis on space science is required
