Ref No: REQ005708

Coventry University is investing in research excellence. Our journey continues with additional investment of £100 million in research, with a total spend of £150 million on our estate and facilities.

Our team of leading academics has developed a significant portfolio of high impact research, and we are gaining momentum as a world-class, innovative institution.

The Faculty of Business and Law has a newly formed Research Centre in Financial and Corporate Integrity that provides a ‘hub’ for researchers to explore the synergetic and inter-disciplinary nature of problems facing businesses, such as accountability, integrity, governance, ethics, risk and compliance. In doing so the Centre focuses on large corporations across industrial and geographical boundaries.

Key research themes include:

  • Accounting, Accountability, Governance and Law
  • Financial Markets and Institutions
  • Applied Economic Analysis and Policy

We are looking for a highly motivated professor who can provide the strategic leadership and vision in the post of Executive Director of the Centre and thus ensure the growth and continuing academic health of the Centre as a focus for inter-disciplinary research of high quality with demonstrable impact.

As Executive Director, you will provide strategic leadership and the vision to lead the development and delivery of new and existing research activities ensuring that personal and team ambitions are met and aligned to the Centre. With a successful track record in securing income and publications, you will have experience of planning and managing resources, governance and teams to deliver excellent research. In addition, you will have excellent people skills and be confident in developing relationships inside and outside of the University in order to encourage collaboration.

You should have a PhD in a relevant discipline and a track record of delivering national and international level research outputs as a professor in a relevant subject area. A commitment to promoting the values that underpin the discipline and its research, with a willingness to travel nationally and internationally, is essential.
