About the opportunities

We are currently seeking applications from accomplished academic leaders for the three roles of Deputy Executive Dean for the new Faculty of Medicine and Health. The Faculty of Medicine and Health will commence operations in April 2018 and these three key roles will be an exciting opportunity to lead change in a rapidly evolving, integrated, healthcare environment.
The successful candidates will be inspiring academic leaders with a proven record of achievement at an international level. Individuals will have experience, at scale, in designing and implementing strategic developments in a medical and health education and research setting whilst contributing to a positive, high-achieving and inclusive culture with shared values. They will bring an outstanding personal research record in medicine or allied health related field and a proven collaborative approach to management and leadership of talented staff, students and affiliated health professionals. Proven ability to work as a team player with other senior leaders in a large and complex faculty will be a significant feature of suitability for the roles.
Candidates will be adept at balancing strategic vision with management rigour to ensure that the new Faculty of Medicine and Health can address the major health challenges of the 21st century. Key measures of success in the role will include the record of achievement and outstanding capabilities of graduates from academic and research programs offered by the faculty.
Term and remuneration
The initial appointment will be for five years with an opportunity for renewal subject to assessment of performance. There will also be an underlying reversionary position at either Professor or Associate Professor level in one of the schools. The successful candidates will be offered an attractive remuneration package, and will hold the academic title of Professor or Associate Professor.
