The Faculty of Medicine
The University of Queensland's Faculty of Medicine is an internationally recognised provider of world-class education and research. The research-intensive Faculty has a gross budget of almost $300 million, employs approximately 1000 continuing and fixed-term staff (headcount), has a community of more than 4000 non-salaried academic appointees and around 3200 students (headcount).
The Faculty of Medicine offers Australia's largest medical degree program for graduates and school-leavers. Undergraduate and postgraduate programs are available in the disciplines of Medicine, Health Sciences, E-Health, Mental Health, Biomedical Sciences and Public Health.
The successful appointee will assist in the delivery of teaching to Phase 1 students both within the hospital setting and the Translational Research Institute (TRI) . The Academic Coordinator will engage with our external providers to promote the presence and visibility of our Clinical Unit within the hospital. This person is also required to contribute to the development of educational resources which includes supporting a dedicated team of Academics to further improve the PA-Southside Clinical Unit’s Teaching and Learning profile. Additionally, this person coordinates delivery of educational events for students and clinicians to support and enhance the Student Enrichment and Faculty Development programmes.
Applicants must possess a degree and Fellowship (FRACS, FRACP or equivalent) with subsequent relevant experience in student and academic administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work with colleagues at all levels, a strong work ethic, and a desire to actively contribute to the development and continuous improvement of educational resources.

This is a Part Time 0.5 FTE, 12 month fixed term appointment as a Teaching and Research Focused Academic Level C. The remuneration package will be in the range $56,437.23 - $65,075.46 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5% (total package will be in the range $61,798.77 - $71,257.63 p.a.).
