About the job

The Senior Learning Designer will be responsible for co-ordinating efforts to ensure the successful transformation and deployment of courses and units to achieve the objectives of the University’s Learning and Teaching strategy and the Swinburne 2025 Plan.

Under the broad direction of Head of Learning, the Senior Learning Designer will be supervising and guiding learning resources to support staff from Swinburne Professional to transform courses and units within a student-centred framework. This will include the provision of direct learning design support to Swinburne Professional and other areas within the University as well as Corporate clients, and the development and deployment of support materials and resources to achieve the transformation objectives in the Swinburne 2025 Plan.

The Senior Learning Designer will be a key point of contact for Swinburne Professional staff to communicate their learning and teaching development requirements to achieve the learning and teaching objectives in the Swinburne 2025 Plan. The incumbent will therefore require considerable management skills, judgement, initiative, discretion and independence while interacting with professional and academic staff.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Postgraduate qualifications or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Experience with learning design for Vocational Education and Training and corporate training and development
  • Proven experience in delivering institution change management activities in the area of learning and teaching.
