Brief Description   

Postdoctorals may be appointed in an academic department of the University or directly in a research laboratory or research center of the University.

The KSRC is a dynamic, diversified, multi-disciplinary research center with cutting edge research facilities and access to silicon foundries in Europe, the US and the Far-East. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work with a team of researchers in research projects designated for fabricating novel semiconductor based nano-devices, in Khalifa University Semiconductor Research Centre KSRC. The project investigates new structures of nano devices with sub 20-nm scale. The project involves the fabrication and characterization of such nano-devices, which requires using state-of-the-art research equipment.

Detailed Description    

The postdoctoral research associate will assist in setting up and testing new equipment. You will be expected to conduct high quality research, and collect and analyze data. You will draft papers to be submitted to highly reputable scientific journals and assist in mentoring and training graduate and senior undergraduate students in their research.

Job Requirements

  • PhD in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Materials Engineering or Applied Science.
  • Solid background in semiconductor devices.
  • Good experience in Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) Systems.
  • Good experience in scanning probe microscopes (AFM and/or STM)
  • Good background in CVD or PVD deposition methods
  • Experience in data acquisition and computer interfaced systems, like LabView.
  • Some experience with SEM and/or TEM is desired.
  • Computer programing, Matlab or equivalent.
  • Some background with finite element simulation tools, like COMOSL, is an asset.
  • Good English and communication skills.
