Cumberland Lodge, the educational charity and residential conference centre in Windsor Great Park, seeks to appoint a Programme Director to oversee the work of its Programme Department and take a lead in organising the conferences, seminars and lectures that aim to shape the thinking of opinion-formers and policy-makers on issues relating to social cohesion.
This is a key role within the organisation, and we seek an outstanding candidate to join us at an exciting time as we implement a strategic plan to enhance our work to promote more peaceful, open and inclusive societies through discussion and dialogue. The successful candidate will be motivated by our firm commitment to a vision of more peaceful, open and inclusive societies; our mission of promoting creative thinking and inclusive dialogue; and our core values of inclusion, challenge and building connections across sectors and academic disciplines, which have been at the heart of our work as an educational foundation since 1947.

It is essential that the Programme Director has strong academic credentials in a field relevant to our work and the ability to work across disciplines; has excellent administrative, IT and writing skills; and is confident in a role that involves public-speaking, engaging with the media and interacting with students, senior academics and people in public life. Previous experience of running conferences is desirable. The successful candidate must be willing to work flexibly, including evenings (about once or twice a week) and weekends (about once a month).
Salary: £45,000 per annum, plus additional benefits.
Pension: Standard Life contributory pension (maximum 10% contributions to support 5% personal contributions, with the option to increase personal contributions over and above 5%).
Additional benefits: Health insurance, death in service benefit, and daily lunches provided.
