Salary: Lecturer: £33,943 - £38,183 ; Senior Lecturer: £39,324 - £48,327

The School of Design is looking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Industrial Design to strengthen our already outstanding Industrial Design academic team with the addition of a highly talented individual, who has an excellent demonstrable track record in design research.
You will have a creative and developmental role within the Industrial Design subject discipline underpinned by your research and/or professional practice. Contributing a high level of creative and scholarly expertise within the Industrial Design Academic Group of BA (Hons) and MA programmes, you will be instrumental in developing new research projects, collaborations with external partners and your own high quality research outputs. You will be an inspirational teacher who has the enthusiasm to inspire the next generation of designers. You will be able to work effectively in a team and be committed to contributing to the Department’s research agenda and global reputation.
With a proven track record of professional experience demonstrated through a creative design portfolio, you will play a leading role in the delivery of teaching and learning within the Industrial Design subject discipline. This will be underpinned by your excellent scholarly research and professional experience as an Industrial Design academic or practitioner. You will have an advanced understanding of design practice demonstrating the requisite knowledge and skill. We are seeking a candidate with the vision to respond creatively to current design issues and the aptitude to broaden your knowledge through academic practice.
You will also actively contribute to maintaining existing and forging new links with industry, external organisations and the education sector in the UK and internationally. You will be working with a successful and experienced team of Industrial Design educators and practitioners who are actively engaged in the subject through diverse research and enterprise activities.
