Assistant Professor of Nursing Practice/Associate Professor of Nursing Practice

Applications are invited for appointment as Associate Professor/Assistant Professor of Nursing Practice in the School of Nursing, to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or two- to three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to strategic need of the School, funding availability and satisfactory performance. 

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or preferably a doctoral degree in Nursing or a related discipline; and be licensed to practise, or be eligible for licensure, with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong.  They should also have at least 5 years’ post-master’s degree experience in the nursing profession or equivalent disciplines.  Preference will be given to those who hold a position at the rank equivalent to Nurse Consultant or Senior Nurse Manager or above. Evidence of local recognition of clinical nursing excellence is expected, which may include but not limited to clinical leadership; development and management of clinical nursing service; contribution to professional training and organizations; awards by healthcare institutions, etc. Applicants must be able to contribute to the enhancement and development of courses, in particular, related to clinical practice, for the nursing academic programmes. They should be well-connected to clinical partners and relevant stakeholders, and are expected to make substantial contributions to one of the School’s strategic developments in clinical partnership and networking initiatives locally, regionally and internationally.

They should also have proven capacity for identifying and addressing potential clinical problems through scientific enquiry and participating in or contributing to the infrastructure of research pertinent to the advancement of nursing practice. Fluency in English, Cantonese and Putonghua is desirable. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointments on two or three years fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.  Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
