Chief Operating Officer
Competitive remuneration

LAMDA is a world-leading Conservatoire, providing exceptional vocational training to actors, stage managers, technicians, directors and designers. Founded in 1861 and being the oldest drama school in the UK, we were the first such institution to offer acting tuition – defining LAMDA’s ongoing role as a pioneer in its field. We are also an awarding organisation, delivering world-renowned qualifications in communication and performance and inspiring the next generation of confident communicators through our examinations in drama, literature and poetry.

Today, LAMDA continues to evolve and the completion of our new £28.2m building at the end of 2017, was a major milestone in our development. We have already made significant progress towards our next strategic milestone which will see LAMDA become a Higher Education Institution in its own right and achieve its own taught degree awarding powers.

We are now seeking to appoint a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead the effective operation of the Academy. Reporting to the Principal and a member of the executive team, the COO will lead our operational and academic services and ensure that the services are carefully aligned with our strategy to develop and support our ambitious plans. As deputy to the Principal, the COO will also play a full role in the strategic leadership and development of LAMDA and will manage a range of important stakeholder relationships.

Candidates for the post will have an outstanding track record of achievement in strategic and operational management at a university. The successful candidate will bring a capacity for creative thinking, experience of developing and implementing effective performance management systems, expertise in the development of people and processes and outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
