The Division of Research at UNSW seeks to improve and enhance UNSW’s research and research training performance through retaining, attracting and developing leading research staff; building and maintaining critical mass in key research areas; encouraging active collaboration of our staff with the best in their fields globally; providing appropriate research environment, facilities and equipment; developing and expanding industry and research linkages both in Australia and internationally; and attracting the highest quality of research students.
About the role
- $91k - $115k (plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)
- Fixed Term, 3 years (with possibility of extension)
We are seeking a highly organised and professional individual to coordinate the administration management of the SHARP Program. The SHARP Program represents a distinctive recruitment and retention strategy that will position UNSW among the leading research-intensive universities worldwide. The SHARP Coordinator will manage the program, and together with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), Executive Director (Research) and SHARP Committee, ensure the success of the program.
About the successful applicant
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A bachelor’s degree / postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline and substantial experience in higher education administration or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in governance and/or committee management within a Higher Education environment, including the development of best practice decision-making processes.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including the ability to produce a wide range of written communication such as reports, briefings, policies, guidelines and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills with the ability to maintain good collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of people and networks, and effectively influence and persuade a range of stakeholders to achieve shared strategic goals.
- Proven ability to understand and interpret complex rules and regulations and provide written and verbal advice on such to internal and external clients in a clear, concise, accurate and logical way.
- Proven ability to work with a high degree of independence with minimal supervision.
